We stock our entire line of hardware in unlacquered iron and brass. All other finishes are created by us using old world methods complementing reproduction of fine period furniture and cabinets being created today.

The image above shows our "stock" brass and "stock" iron. All finishes grouped with the "stock" metal can only be done to the metal which they are grouped with (i.e. "vert-de-gris" finish can only be done on brass hardware, and "light rust" finish can only be done on iron hardware, etc.

NOTE: Not all "stock" brass hardware comes polished.
NOTE: Most of our hardware is actually in steel but for the purpose of this online catalog we refer to our steel as iron.

ALL OUR HARDWARE IS IN METRIC. WE DO OUR BEST TO HAVE AN ACCURATE CONVERSION TO AMERICAN MEASUREMENT, BUT VARIANCES MAY OCCUR DUE TO THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO PRE-BORE FOR PULLS AS THE "CENTER TO CENTER" DIMENSION MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM OUR CATALOG.
Technical Information

FINISHES
European Hardware and Finishes is the largest importer and manufacturer of unfinished iron and brass European period hardware. Many of our clients do their own finishes on our hardware, but we also have many clients who want to purchase already finished hardware. For this reason, we offer an assortment of old world custom finishes handmade here in Los Angeles.

HINGES
Most of our hinges are handed. When ordering please specify left or right hand. See Drawing.



Except for our barrel hinges, all our hinges are sold in pairs.

Most of our hinges are available with ball tip finials. Enquire when ordering.

KNOBS, PULLS AND FALSE KEYS
Our knobs, pulls and false keys fasten to wood with 4mm machine screws. We supply you with 1" screws for 3/4" wood thickness. If you need longer screws, let us know the thickness of the wood used and we will provide you with the proper size needed. We also offer a breakaway screw that breaks down to various lengths.



ESCUTCHEONS
Most of our escutcheons are handed and are sold in pairs.



NOTE: Some iron hardware is available in "Cementex." This treatment integrates zinc particles at very high temperature on the steel surface. Cementex helps retard the rusting process.
